A lovely cosy chalet with everything we could possibly need. The most outstanding views!!  This region is so pretty and relaxing.  Over-all it has been the perfect break for us both, with five nights of un-interrupted sleep.  We enjoyed the peace.

Thank you to Nichola who has been extremely hospitable and helpful, we couldn’t of wished for more.

Dear Nichola, What a beautiful place you have here. Peaceful & quiet with lovely views. Thank you for waving your magical wand and bringing out the sun and blue skies for us after 6 x days of o/cast, drizzly weather around the South Coast. The chalet is lovely and tastefully decorated and above all spotless. Your breakfast hamper that you supplied was magnificent and took our breath away. So much beautifully arranged fresh food, it was a “Banquet in a Basket”. Thank you so much. I will be certainly singing your praise to all my friends and associates in the BMW Motorcycle Club WA. Thank you again!! PS: thanks for your kindness + birthday present + our cards = beautiful!!

Nichola & Ben, We have loved our week-long stay in your beautiful cottage with everything you have provided, including the spectacular views over the vines to the ranges. Just loved sitting on the verandah with a vino, taking it all in! A great place to make a base for all the tourist activities near-by or just to sit and relax. Hope to return again one day. Thanks for your hospitality.

Words cannot describe the beauty and wonder of this place – it is surely a slice of heaven. Life is so peaceful here. This cottage ranks at the top of places we have stayed in – so well situated and appointed. It was a delight to be here and we certainly hope to return. Thanks for sharing!

What a wonderful Shang-ri-la!! We could not have asked for a more relaxing and peaceful setting. We received a lovely welcome and we will certainly pass on the word to our friends requiring a peaceful atmosphere for a retreat. The view of the surrounding country side and the Stirling Ranges – a special feature. The view of the Sleeping Lady outside and inside will remain with us. Many thanks Ben & Nichola. Love & best wishes.

Three years hence and we are back again. All the way from Emerald in Victoria. So nice to cook dinner and relax in front of the fire. A bit like home but not as cold. Wonderful to be able to come back again and find a familiar and comfortable place to relax. Clean, comfortable and well equipped, and wonderful views of the Sleeping Lady! Thank you Nichola & Ben.

You guys have thought of everything – even glad wrap!  It makes such a difference to stay in such a well equipped accommodation.  We loved our 3 days and will be sure to tell friends and family of a very special place to hide away from normal life!  We even climbed Bluff Knoll.  So nice to come back after a hard days trekking, enjoy a simple meal, some fine wine and a perfect view.

We were lucky enough to win 4 nights stay at The Sleeping Lady.  The brochure looked lovely, but can’t compare to actually being here.  Great hospitality, an amazing view that I could have enjoyed all day with a book, a great glass of wine from the vineyard next door and very comfy sofas, except that we couldn’t pass up the challenge of climbing Castle Rock and Devil’s Slide.  My boys loved running around the orchard, thought Millie was great and the swing = fantastic fun.  Coming back to a lit fire and a toasty cottage – how special.  The only problem – 4 nights was not long enough!

That was one of the nicest “hiking bases” we have ever stayed at.  Peaceful, wonderful views, such attention to the details of hospitality…Great.  Also bought some Pinot Noir from next door…then drunk it whilst walking the vineyards where from its grapes came… We may come back, in the meanwhile I guess the Stirling range won’t go anywhere… Cheers,

The Sleeping Lady is a delightful experience.  Loved all the thoughtful creature comforts.  No words can do justice to the amazing surroundings and views.  Not only are the people friendly and welcoming so are the beautiful birds and kangaroo!  Really enjoyed our “Sleeping Lady” experience.

Greetings all, I recently stayed at the Sleeping Lady Chalet, in Porongurup for two nights.  I selected the accommodation as their website www.thesleepinglady.com.au described the chalet as having “Wonderful Scenery” and from the rest of the description it appeared to have some of things I want out of a break – real solitude, peaceful and importantly, within close proximity to some really good wineries.  We all know the experience of having the reality of a destination not living up to the advertising, however, in this case the advertising is an understatement – the views are exceptional. You need to experience the sun rising and setting over the Stirling Ranges, and the extraordinary changes in colour and imagery that unfolds over the range.  The name sleeping lady is an accurate description of one of the images that several of the mountains in the range create.  The accommodation is very comfortable, 2 bedrooms – suitable for 2 couples, and the proprietors very friendly. Castle Rock Winery (200 metres away), has a sensational Pinot Noir, and Ironwood Estate Winery (about 3 K’s) has an excellent sauvignon blanc and services lunches in an excellent setting overlooking an array of valleys. I had not been to the Porongurup range before, however there are some sensational walks and the sky walk is just amazing.  I will be going back, but thought I would share it with you as I was impressed.

Thank you Nichola and Ben – A very special place to celebrate a very special birthday!  We had a great time! SPOTLESS! WARM! COMFY! LOVELY! Thanks.

“The Sleeping Lady has been a wonderful tonic for our family and in the latter years, just Jon and I, each Easter for the past 8 years. The location is perfect, not only the village of Porongurup, the walks and the friendly people, but also the view from the verandah – it is so calming it is almost spiritual. We love the cottage and its setting. It holds so many family memories for us with our children. We have spent Easter in the village of Porongurup every year for the past 16 years!”
